COUNTY RESULTS (Monday Night) Hymera, 40; Duggrer, 38. (Tuesday Night) Shelburn, 49; Prairie Creek, 22. Farmersburg, 35; Graysville, 28. Fairbanks, 31; Hutsonville, 30. (Wednesday Night) Shelburn, 29; Honey Creek, 28. Hymera, 53; Carlisle, 43. New Lebanon, 36; Slerom, 32. Sullivan county basketball for the most part played a first-of-tlie-week Turkey Day prelude this week with HYMERA, SHELBURN, FARMERSBURG. FAIRBANKS and NEW LEBANON basketmen relishing the sweet savor of victory along with their choice slabs of old man gobler and cranberry sauce. Monday night resulted ' in a narrow SHAKAMAK decision over the DUGGER BULLDOGS in the latter's doghouse, 40-38, with GARDNER in the center locality doing the most injury to the BULLDOGS. Lanky GARDNER settled eight field goals neatly through the Looped skirts and rang up six free throws as the BULLDOGS tried desperately to stop that educated man of the hardwood only to suffer numerous violations. BULLDOG fouling gave the SHAKAMAKS the winning edge for they copped ten of the home town boys' seventeen violations. BUTLER and .PHILLIPS pushed the BULLDOG scoring in a mighty effort with' their seven and one and five and one, respectively, but their over-all fouling disability spelled BULLDOG doom. Tuesday night. Shelburn brush ed past visiting PRAIRIE CREEK in a carefree manner, 49-22, with PANTHER reserves presenting most of the home town opposition to the GOPHERS. McCRACKEN hit the airways S7 V5 4V

in an unerring barrage that totaled five field goals and two free throws, with BOB ANDERSON taking the center post for SWEET and sinking four buckets in a well-rounded offensive performance down under the basket. TINCHER tapped the network for three and two, SANTUS grabbed three and one, to which METHENY, WEST, McHUGH, FLESHER and DEE BOLINGER each contribuled mark-ups. The same evening FARMERSBURG edged .out the GREYHOUNDS of GRAYSVILLE, 3528, in the PLOWBOY farmhouse with KELLY finding the range for five from the field and two from the line to headline the PLOWBOY scoring. DRAKE followed him with lour buckets and HOGAN counted for three. BILL EASTHAM, we note, is back in the PLOWBOY line-up after he hit the stretcher up at HONEY CREEK several weeks ago. FAIRBANKS brought the battle armor of the HUTSONVILLE basketmen back to TROJAN country Tuesday night- when they held the HUTmen in the shadows by a mere one point and ended time with a 31-30 lead.DIX again became the, differ ence between win and lose for the TROJANS as he broke through the HUTSONVILLE defenses to lay six fielders up there along with three . gratis tosses. The remainder of the TROJAN legions were off their mark but built up their advantage at the foul line, hitting nine out of ten. On the eve of Thanksgiving and all the good things it represented, the SHELBURN PANTHERS made the day's cause for jubilant spirits even more pronounced with a 29-28 victory over the theretofore undefeated HONEY CREEK BEES to push the PANTHER list of consecutive vins to seven. The PANTHERS were bested in the field by the BEES, who hit twelve to SHELBURN's eleven but the Sullivan county five changed the scoreboard version to a PANTHER command by way of the foul line, hitting seven out of nine trips to the line. METHENY started the PANTHER side of Jhe scoreboard rolling .but was followed by FLESCHNER for the BEES. OXENDINE, towering ' hgh scprer for the BEES, forged : the Vigo county five ahead, 4-2, for only half a minute before SWEET performed a beautiful pivot collection to which REILLY answered and SWEET came right back to tie it at 6-all. FLESCHNER converted SWEET'S foul and OXENDINE hit from out in the field only to be followed by McCRACKEN and McHUGH for the PANTHERS to push the latter's scoring to ten before OXENDINE laid another pushup on the right connecting rod to end the quarter 11-10, Honey Creek. METHENY as in the opening chapter was the first to draw honey from the beehive and McHUGH followed him seconds later and SWEET and OXENDINE traded successful foul tosses. METHENY feinted past his guard to score neatly as ANDERSON fouled OXENDINE, who made the most of the opportunity and the score stood 17-13 (Shelburn) with four minutes of the second quarter remaining. couple f minutes lafpr n PANTHER passing play gave LIVINGSTON an opening through which to move and score, being fouled in so doing by AKERS. ed the half 19-13 for the TIIERS.

PANThe second period was marked by a wonderful display of rebounding by LIVINGSTON, ANDERSON and SWEET over the lenthgy arms of OXENDINE and they continued to close-out the BEE act in the third session of time. McHUGH struck first in the third, FLESCHNER drove under, OXENDINE copped METHENY's foul, REILLY pushed the leather on a stright course and FLESCHNER tipped the ball in under the basket, to be followed by OXENDINE's tally to end the quarter with the PANTHERS holding a slight margin, 21-20. Hectic moments in the fourth began with' OXENDINE's tip-in and ANDERSON'S free throw that set up a 22-tie. FLESCHNER drove under and scant seconds later SWEET riocled the net with it with one of the same before OXENDINE pushed in another to tie the scoring at 26-26 with four minutes remaining. , METHENY hit REILLY'S foul, SWEET added two points on OXENDINE's foul before AKERS . . 1 TlT?t . . rang up aiiuuiei oc-jt, lany 10 ci the scoring at 29-28 with three minutes left in the ball game and the BEES went all out to gain possession of the leather. As time ticked away OXENDINE and REILLY left the game on personals in an effort to take the candy from the determined PANTHERS. Reports from COACH TOM GARDNER also told of a suecessful night Wednesday evening for the SHAKAMAKS, who roll- j ed over the CARLISLE INDIANS who journeyed to Hytown. With GARDNER, the number one SHAKAMAK - word these days, burning the right kind of fuel (seven buckets and four free throws) the HYMERA flivver sped past the INDIAN warpack at a 53 to 43 gait. . SLACK, too, was in the front seat of the locals' machine, snaring five from the field and one from the line. evening, but added three and two during his stay on the floor, ROBBINS and BLACKETER did a good job for the INDIANS but received little support from their accompanying braves. Forty-nine personals were called by the hawk-eyed officials, twentyeight on the locals and twentyone on the INDIANS. NEW LEBANON sank their teeth in the "boys from the Wabash" and kept the BEAVER pelts in TIGERLAND as token of a 36-32 victory pf last Wednesday evening. . Tonight . the BEAVERS will try to redeem themselves by unleashing their fury on the- FLAT ROCK five of ' Illinois. .
