Friday night with the exception of NEW LEBANON and PLEASANTVILLE, who rested from first-of-the-week victories.

The HYMERA SHAKAMAKS' trip to the DUGGER kennel for the 1946-47 BULLDOG comingout party was called off due to the unforeseen length of the BULLDOG gridiron schedule. . COACH TOM LEAMAN stated today that the BULLDOGS will meet the anxious SHAKAMAKS November 25th at Dusger and will engage the SULLIVAN ARROWS January 11th. I Home action in Curry township Friday evening was limited to the basket center of the SHELBURN PANTHERS, who shatter-

a , lil I N

ed the undefeated record of the Vigo county CONCANNON basketmen with a 30 to 24 drubbing and moved their own wins to five consecutive victories. .

COACH PAUL WEEKLEY's charges failed repeatedly to connect in the first period through a definitely "set" CANNON zone but the work of DICK SWEET, JIM McCRACKEN, BILL METHENY, TOM SANTUS and ED LIVINGSTON on the rebounding phase held the "big gun crew" to an equally scoreless chapter from the field. Both squads hit a mere two free throws in the first eight minutes. In the second period McCRACKEN dropped the first shell into the CANNON battle zone but was followed up by BENNINGTON of the visitors. SWEET changed the picture a few seconds later and that BEN-

NINGTON man came right bacH to tie the score at 6-all.

With four minutes remaining FRAZIER hit for the CANNONS and added a free throw from SWEET'S foul. SWEET retaliated by converting SLOVER's foul and METHENY and McCRACKEN connected on clever deceptive PANTHER plays. SWEET hit the bench with a slight injury and ANDERSON assumed the basket defense as SANTUS took the guard position. HAMRICK marked for the visitors and METHENY and McCRACKEN penetrated the big gun zone to end the half at 1511. . In the third period SWEET returned to the fray as McCRACKEN, METHENY, and LIVINGSTON pushed the locals' scoring with four buckets and two free throws while the CONCANNON firearms were allowed only two field goals. In the final quarter the CANNONS changed their tactics to a man-to-man defense while the PANTHERS chose a nifty ball handling game of keep away, garnering only two buckets and one free throw through the efforts of McCRACKEN and SWEET while the CONCANNON five commanded the quarter scoring with three buckets and a trio of scores from the line to end the bickering at 30-24. COACH PAUL TERRELL today reported that "one-for-you-and-one-for-me" type of hardwood collections prevailed in the TROJAN goal house Friday night when the neighboring MEROM BEAVERS hit the FAIRBANKS hardwood. Scoring was close throughout the contest, the TROJAN mentor stated, with the hosts emerging the victors with a narrow two point margin, 36-34.

, ' B WAYNE DIX and PEARL

from the "banks of the Wabash" were G. HOPPER with eight field goals and BOGARD with lour two-pointers and four free throws.

Just south of the territory wherein the foregoing dispute was held, the GREYHOUND district observed a successful evening by eliminating the HUTSONVILLE ball club, 28-23. The CARLISLE INDIANS scalped their first victim of the current hardwood season last Friday night by annihilating the OAKTOWN OAKS, who came to ihe Iladdon township vicinity in much better spirits than their departure exhibited. Rolling to a 40-21 finish, the INDIANS released their war cry amid a profusion of personal violations mounting to twentytwo trips to the line for the visit-1 ors. The OAKS lost the victory advantage as thev tallied onlv eleven of their many chances. The INDIANS dropped ten of their thirteen attempts from the line, seven, of which were collected by Indian chief ROBBINS, who also added four fielders. Virtually every INDIAN of the entire- ten drew blood from the OAK defense at least twice while only three of the visitors were able to pass through the Indian battle formation. FARMERSBURG was sent recoiling from the mouth of the JASONVILLE YELLOW JACKET beehive Friday evening with a 49-25 stinging. The efforts of DON HOGAN, who counted for four PLOWBOY buckets, failed to receive the necessary support from his mates, BENSON and DRAKE, who hit a small two and one and two and two, respectively. SEIFERT and HUFF used the fast break approach to can fourteen points and twelve points, in the order mentioned, for the JACKETS. Hardwood antics over the county tomorrow night will be reserved to the DUGGER BULLotice For your convenience we have installed an "air hoist" and "Aro" pressure greasing system.
