BIRTHDAY PARTY A Hallowe'en and birthday party was given Wednesday nipht, October 23rd by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Anderson in honor of their daughter, Mary Jane's fifth birthday. Refreshments of candy, cake and ice cream were served to the following guests: Shirley and Larry Joe Exline, Joan and Billy Royers, Judy Noble, Harriet McDonald. Bobby Joe Engle, Sandra and Bobby Rogers, Leota, Frankie and Oral Bevis, Barbara Skinner, Wilma Jean Skinner, Gerald Wayne Russell, Jimmy Bob and Mary Jane Anderson. The honored guest received several nice gifts. EAST HADBON HOME ECONOMICS CLUB The East Haddon Home Economics club met Thursday, October 17th at the home of Mrs. Ira Woodward. The meeting was called to order by Mrs. Nellie Robbins. The following program was given: Club song "The Old Oaken Bucket." The club creed was repeated in unison. Roll call was answered by "Why I attend my Home Economics club." The' minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Tickets for the achievement day were presented. The club voted to hold a market Saturday. November 2, at the Griffins Hardware. The following officers were elected for the coming year: President, Emma Bowen; vice-president, Agnes Latshaw and secretarytreasurer, Nell Borders. PYTHIAN SISTERS , HOLD MEETING ; ! The Pythian Sisters met Thursday evening, October 24th with a good attendance. After the opening ceremonies the charter was draped for Mrs. Ida Geiger who passed away that afternoon. At the close of the meeting a program was given. Mrs. Arlie Springer gave several numbers on the piano. Ghosts appeared during the evening and the program closed with the "old witch" appearing and telling each one a thrilling fortune. Refreshments of cookies, apI pies and coffee were served. RESERVATIONS ELIGIBLE FOR "SYMPHONY SUPPER CLUB" Local residents holding tickets for the Friday evening concerts of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Fabien Sevitsky, are eligible to make reservations for the "Symphony Supper Club", it has been announced by Mrs. Jack A. It is not necessary to attend both lecture and dinner. Reservations to attend the supper club should be made on the Wednesday preceding the Friday performance. Reservations should be made through the Svmphony Orchestra Office, Mnrat Theater, Indianapolis, Indiana. WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION MFT FRIDAY OCTOBER 25 The Woman's Association of thp First Presbyterian Church held its regular meeting at the church on Friday. Oct. 25th. It wa Puest day and a nice crowd attended. Mrs. Homer Weisbecker pave the opening prayer. After a few announcements made by the president, Mrs. H. W. Branstetter, the meeting was turned over to the program chairman, Mrs. Waldo Wheeler. Mrs. John T Havs gave the devotions. .Mrs. Emma Kennedy gave a snlend'd review of the book "The Miracle of the Bells" by Russell Janney. It was the story of a Polish girl's simnle faith in Ood and how it affected the lives of many people. As Mrs. Kennedy said "there is a chuckle and sermon in every chapter."
