determination forecasting an
ther thrilling hardwood year. t
Lin the past the Bulldogs
ave come up with some of
he most outstanding quintets
M this district. Schooled in
he art of dogged defensive
bility, the Bulldogs are con-
kaually a threat to aspiring

rformance.
Twelve victories comprised he Bulldogs' winning tally. $st season and Coach Tom -eaman has reported a large
kennel of Bulldogs reporting
jjr early practices from which Ihould develop some better-Ihan-ever basketeers.
Pleasantville Blue Streaks Coach Olin Michael will build his Blue Streak machine this season around returning lettermen Boone, Overby, Graham, Richey and Hamilton, with prospective material to complete the varsity to come from these basketmen: Cow- . den, Carr, Richards, Pahmeier, Cass and Smith. The Streaks suffered a number of injuries during the past season and fell among the low winner average squads, however, early practices have been shaping up remarkably well and a more successful season is looked forward to this year.

New Lebanon Tigers Another season brings to light a comparatively new squad of New Lebanon Tigers, who lost virtually their entire varsity squad via last year's graduation. With aggressive Jack Sims and Wayne Noble returning to the original first five, Coach C. B. Lisman will work a number of newcomers into the 1946.47 varsity along with Clarence Roseberry and Jim Burns, who return from last year's varsity reserves. With a Wabash Valley record that made history in their alma mater's hardwood record, the Tigers rang up eighteen victories to four defeats last season. They moved into the "sweet sixteen" bracket of Wabash Valley tournament via the Sullivan center, downing Bainbridge in the opening rounds to be sent to the showers by. the Robinson Maroons. '

Hymera
The Hymera Shakamaks are swinging into their usual enthusiastic basketball life this season with workouts having been underway for some time. With the zone defense probably being down Shakamak way this season, hardwood opponents will again no doubt find the going hard to basket country with the Gardner men on the defensive. Last season the Shakamaks boasted one of the rangiest teams in this section and heckled their opponents with a constant basket barrage that netted the Hytown favorites fourteen wins out of eighteen starts an enviable record in any coach's manual. "With lettermen Lee Wells, Gene Slack and Tom Gardner, Jr., back from last year's first varsity five, the Hymera mentor will work into the remaining positions the following prospective varsity aspirants: Jerry Brown, Jerry Criss, Robert Criss, Max Miller, Ben Trump, John Peeler, George McCoskey and Max HilL
Carlisle Indians
The Carlisle Indians are in
their war camp today preparing a victorious scalping campaign with Coach McCammon on the chieftain's mount. With a brilliant record of fifteen wins against seven losses last season, the Indians are ready to go on the warpath to gain new laurels in the ensuing hardwood battles. Bob Robbins, Jim McCammon, John Stultz, Wayne Blacketer, Guy, Rogers, Jim Abrams, Frank Alexander, Eugene DeBoeuf, Carl Handcock, Tom Ross, Jim Blann, Charles Parnell, Stanley Arnett, John South, Ed Ridge, Wm. Nicol, Dwight Strauser, Jr. Morris, Bob Stafford and Clay Jett will carry the weight of the Indian attack with managers Joe Frazee and Eugene Vanmeter on hand to administer their needs. Heretofore, the Indians have been a powerful foe to Sullivan county basketball fives and this season is in all probability, no exception. '
