Today.

The last day of October is the deadline for payment of the .Vdird quarterly installment of ike state tax and affects all residents whose tax liability for the Julv-Aueust-Seotsmber ner-

$1,250 in the July 1-to-Sept. 30 period, (2) all retail merchants I with gross receipts of more than '$2,750 during the same three months, and (3) wholesalers and j manufacturers whose sales voljume exceeded $4,250. I Throughout the month of October the tax division has endeav

ored to impress each taxpayer

with the importance of using the pre-addressed gross income tax forms which were mailed to their home or business addresses on September 20. The blank carries the account numbsr which the division has assigned to the taxpayer and will eliminate delay in crediting the remittance to the proper account. Persons who owe the tax but

failed to receive a pre-addressed blank will find report forms available at auto license branches throughout the state, Mr. Sturdevant said. All returns, ac-

I wish to make a statement in behalf of John Howard, candidate for Commissioner 3rd District. I know that Mr. Howard is an honest man because of a business deal I had with him, at a recent date in July. An error was made bv me that meant $160.00 in Mr. Howard's favor. Mr. Howard came voluntarily and refunded the money to me. I was not aware of the error and had even balanced the records. I am not interested in politics in Sullivan County. I want Sullivan County to know that they have an honest man in John Howard. I feel that John Howard should be elected acja'n in Sullivan County. , ' KELLY WELLS Freelandville Milling Co.
