SOCIETY Sunshine Home Ec. Club The Sunshine Home Economics club enjoyed a picnic Tuesday when they motored to Vincennes in Mrs, Julia Brown's school bus. The morning was spent in town and at the noon hour a delicious covered dish luncheon was enjoyed at Gragg Park. The afternoon was spent in taking pictures, playing, games and relating stories of amusing incidents. It was decided that the club will meet September 10th at the Pleasantville Park Rock House and each- member is to bring a coverad dish. We heartily welcome three new members into the club. They are: Mrs. Golda Price, Mrs. Julia Brown and Mrs. Stella Alcman. The club is also happy to know that Mrs Lenora Brown is recovering from her illness and hope that she will be with them again soon. Those who enjoyed the day were Mrs. Ina Garrison, Mrs. Georgia Andis, Mrs. Hazel Newkirk, Mrs. Stella Alsman, Mrs. Zelpha Bennett, Mrs. Jessie Brust, Mrs. Thelma Benefiel, Mrs. Goldie Price, Mrs. Dorothy Timmerman, Mrs. Julia Brown, Mrs. Lola Frye, Larry Ellis, Darella and Gloria Brown, Edith Ann Bicknell, Carol Ann Gibbs, Wilda and Wanda Andis, Gloria and Ronald Paul Frye.

Dade Park To Close Season On Labor Day

DADE PARK, Ky., Aug. 29 The 26-day summer meeting of -'he DRrie Park Jockey club is drawing to a close, the final pros?rani beint? scheduled for Labor Day, Monday, September 2. The meeting has been one of . the most succssful ones in the hiscorv of the track. Two more feature handicaps ema.n Cn the summer program. The A. M. Fisher Handicap will be run Saturday, August 31. This race is named for Miss Anna M. Fisher, secretary to James C. Ellis, president and general manager of the Dade Park Jockey club, and is an annual fixture of the summer meetings. It is for two year olds and will be the first time of. the meeting thet the "babies" of the turf have been called upon to go six furlongs, . other events for two-year-olds having been at. five and one-quarter furlongs. A purse of $1,500 will be posted ::or this event which should attract, the leading two-year-olds quartered at the track. The Labor Day Handicap scheduled for Monday will be for a purse of $1,500 and is for three-year-olds and upward and will be contested over a mile and one-eighth route. The Saturday and Labor Day programs will include eight races each day with the first race being scheduled for 2 p. m.

Mr. and Mrs. Hudson Dailey of Chicago, will arrive tomorrow for a week-end visit with the former's mother,, Mrs. Margaret Dailey of North Court St. Frank Marks has returned to Hollywood, Florida, to resume his work there after a visit here with relatives. Mrs. Marks and children remained for a longer visit. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Markey left Wednesday for Andover, Mass., for a visit with the former's parents. Mrs. Ida Adams, mother , of Mrs. S. E. Lindley, has returned to her home in Marianna, "Florida, after an extended visit here. Mr. and Mrs. Dixon Curtis and daughter, Sally, have returned to their home in Addison, New York, after enjoying an extended visit here with Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Phillips. Mrs. D. T. Nicoson and daughter, Rebecca, of Indianapolis, spent the week-end with relatives here. Mrs. Mary Dolhonde and granddaughter, Donna Lee, left yesterday for their home in New Orleans, La., after a visit here with Mrs. Amelia Crowder and son, Edgar Crowder. Mrs. D. M. Phillips, Robert Phillips and daughter, Sue, have gone to Boliver, New York, where they will visit Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Phillips. They will also visit in Addison, New York, with Mrs. Phillips' daughter, Mrs. Dixon Curtis and family. : Mr. and Mrs. Milton Marks and family are the guests this week of the former's mother, Mrs, Edith Marks of South Main St. Mrs. M. Bement Hunt and son, Charles Hunt, of Indianapolis, arrived Wednesday to attend th3 funeral of Mrs. Hunt's aunt, Mrs. Ella Knotts. I

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Ferree had as their week-end guests, their daughter, Sharon, and husband of Bloomington, Indiana. Mr. and Mrs. Will Foutz, Mr. and Mrs. Toody Bogard and daughter were dinner guests of Mary and Fylura Foetz. Thny also called on Byron Foutz who is ill. A large crowd from this vicinity attsnded the funeral of Mrs. Ormiston Friday afternoon. Mrs. Eva Ransford and Mrs. Rollie Pinkston are attending a camp meeting at Brazil, Indiana this week.
