This Morning's Headlines CHRYSLER IDLE, PARTS LAGGING Efforts of the nation's motorcar makers to push into high level production received another setback as Chrysler Corporation closed down all its assembly lines because of lack of parts and materials. Idling of the Plymouth, Dodge, DeSoto and Chrysler division assembly lines will take more than 20,000 units out of the current
week's production volume, shrinking the industry total for current five-day period to between 65,000 and 70,000 vehicles.

NEW BREATHING TECHNIQUE REDUCES POLIO DEATHS University of Minnesota doctors report a noteworthy reduction in deaths in the Minnesota infantile paralysis epidemic through use of new techniques in treating bulbar, the so-called killer type, poliomyelitis. Dr. Maurice B. Visscher, professor of physiology, told newsmen visiting the university hospital's polio wards: "Since the application of new techniques in treating bulbar polio, we have a significant reduction in the mortality rate. We have found that if we can keep bulbar patients breathing five to seven days they have a good chance of surviving."

OPA NABS SIX IN DRIVE ON AUTO BLACK MART Six men were arrested in Leesville, S. C, yesterday, in what OPA agents said was the start of the drive to crack a 14-state dealers' black market in automobiles, estimated to have cost car buyers 50 million dollars in excess prices. Special OPA agents arrested the men after buying five automobiles at an open air automobile market at Leesville, through which they calculated a 75 million dollar traffic at approximately double ceiling prices had flowed in the last nine months. The market was jammed with an estimated 80 dealers from many states, and 500 cars.
