This Morning's Headlines STALIN TURNS COLD SHOULDER ON FRANCE Premier Stalin appears to have made oneof Europe's great decisions in laying down Russia's new policy on Germany. He had a choice between Germany and France and he chose Germany. This is the sigificance seen by top diplomatic authorities in Washington in the Russian policy declaration made by Foregn Mnister Molotov at the Paris conference. - Molotov's statements to Foreign Ministers and Secretary of State Byrnes presumably ends a great dilemma in which the Russians have found themselves ever since the end of the war. They were caught between conflicting German and French interests of tremendous political importance and for months, according to officials, they have either straddled the issues or avoided them.
,' France wants a very weak Germany. She wants the Ruhr and
Rhineland either wholly or partially separated from the new German state. Molotov flatly opposed separation of German territory.

"WHO THEN CAN BE SAVED?"
The above question was asked of Jesus when He spoke to His Apostles relative to the difficulty of a rich man 'entering into the Kingdom of God. (Mk. 10:23-31.) And in reply to this question that they were asking among themselves, Jesus said, "With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible " (V.27) . According to this statement, were men left alone to their own understanding to develop their own code of morals and system of religion, not a sinner under the azure canopy of heaven would ever walk the streets of gold. Without the light of God's revealed truth (2 Cor. 4:-6) mortals down here would possess less hope than a mariner on a tempest-infested ocean without chart or compass. One in a billion ( ?) might accidentally travel God's pathway that leads to the Eternal Home, but the God of all crea-v tion does not work in such a haphazard, slipshod, hit-or-miss way, does he beloved? On the contraiy, God has revealed to us a plan the Gospel of Christ Rom. 1:16) that we may learn our duty to Him and, doing it, escape corruption here and torment hereafter. This plan is so simple that even the uneducated may learn it readily (Isa. 35:8), yet it is so profound that master logicians cannot delve to its bottom or climb to its summit. This gospel of salvation, the only one that God offers to men and women of our time, holds the cricified Christ before the eyes of ' sinners and exhorts them to come unto Him in His appointed way. "No one can come to me," said the Savior, "except, the Father which hath sent me draw him; and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the prophets. And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that, hath heard, and hath learned
of the Father, cometh unto me" (Jno. 6:44-45). Correct teaching of God's word, then, draws men and women to Christ, and "Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). This correct teaching (with all the host of Satan and sectarianism to the contrary notwithstanding) is clearly presented in Faith UNTO (Rom. 10:10) Repentance UNTO (Acts 11:18) Confession UNTO (Rom. 10:1(1) Immersion INTO (Gal. 3:27) Christ ( Rom. 6:3) His Death (Rom. 6:4). His Name (Mt. 28:19) His Church (I Cor. 12:13). the diagram above. Without faith it is impossible to please God (Heb. 11:6), and this belief is UNTO, or in the direction of salvation. Upon the basis of this faith man is to repent or perish (Lk 13:3), confess the name of Christ before men or be denied bv Christ in heaven (Mt. 10:32-33), and be baptized INTO Christ or remain on the outside (Gal. 3:26-27). The New Testament says that man is baptized INTO Christ, INTO His death (where his sins are forgiven), INTO the name of the God-head Three, and INTO the body of Christ which is the church (Col. 1:18). Yet, Paul wrote, "There is ONE baptism" (Eph. 4:4-6). Hence the one immersion in water (I Pet. 3:19-21), preceded by faith, repentance, and confession , (Acts 8:36-38) ushers the one who has been guilty of sin into Christ, into His death, into His name, and into His church ; thereby extending the offer of heaven if he will be faithful to his Lord until his death (Rev. 2:10).

SERVICES
In the days of Jesus' ministry in Old Judea he went about the countryside teaching and preaching the gospel whereever the need and the faith to receive it was found. He ' healed the sick and afflicted, drove out deviling spirits from the souls of men . He taught the word of God with saving power and a great light of knowledge sprang up whre ever he went. .. Yet at no time did Jesus classify his followrs as anything ' but childrn of God . . . although they did receive th6 name " of "Christian" at AntiochBecause God taught no denomination . . Methodist, Baptist, Christian, Presbyterian or any other ... the churches of this community have joined together in a summer program of outdoor Union Church Services. The second of this season's series will be held Sunday evening in the City Park. Plan to attend what has been fashioned to strengthen yom Christian life for Christ. " Great King of nations, hear our prayer, ' While at thy feet we fall, And humbly with united cry, To Thee for mercy call.
With pitying eyes behold our need, As thus we lift our prayer; Correct us with Thy Judgements, Lord, Then let Thy. mercy spare. Amen.
