Twelve young farmers and farmerettes of Sullivan county were presented with - pigs Satur-
jday at the distribution of stock ;by the Pig Club of the Peoples State Bank. Entrusted with the purebred stock, the young people will be called upon to rear their squealing charges through the year, keeping ' dajly . records of the feeding and general development of their animals. Prizes will be awarded the winners. There were 52 applicants and County Agent H. S. Benson announced 25 or 30 more pigs will be distributed soon. First wheat threshing of the year for Sullivan county was reported June 27ui from the Will Wilkey and C. L. Davis farm west of Sullivan.
Three thousand baseball fans saw the Chicago White Sox defeat the Sullivan iautuals in ,ah exhibition game here June 28th, 7-1. Suirivan played .the big " leaguers on even terms for five innings.

HIGHLIGHTS OF REGULAR ARMY EHLISTMENT
1. Enlistments for 1)4, 2 or 3 years. (One-year enlistments permitted for men now in the Army with 6 or more months of service.) 2. Enlistment age from 18 to 34 years inclusive (17 with parents' consent) except for men now in Army, who may reenlist at any age, and former service men depending on length of service. 3- A reenlistment bpnus of $50 for each year of active service since such bonus was last paid, or since last entry into service, provided reenlistment is within 90 days after last honorable discharge. 4. Up to 90 days' paid furlough, depending on length of service, with travel paid to home and return, for men now in the Army who reenlist.
- 1 5. A thirty-day furlough each year with full pay. 6. Mustering-out pay (based upon length of service) to all men who are discharged to enlist or reenlist. 7. Option to retire at half pay for the rest of your life after , 20 years' service increasing to .three-quarters pay1 after 30 years' service. (Retirement income in grade of Master or First Sergeant up to $185.63 per month for life.) All previous active federal military service counts toward retirement, i . . 8. Benefits under the GI Bill of Rights for men who enlist on or before October 5, 1946. 9. Choice of branch of service and overseas theater (of those still open) on 3-year enlistments.
