I SEE THAT . . Headaches are the most common symptom of defective vision. You should have your eyes examined at least every two years or immediately if you have some reason to believe they are not up to standard. Persistent headaches may five the tipoff that your eyesight is failing. The service of your optometrist includes first a thorough, accurate and scientific eye examination and second, if the examination shows that glasses are required, he prescribes corrective lenses suited to your individual needs. It is best to play safe by keeping your vision up to par. If you can afford anything, you can't afford to neglect your eyes. DR. C.E. FISHER Optometrist Phone 430. j

THE CHURCHES OF CHRIST SALUTE YOU."

Romans 16:16

kji&;---Jv-j-i'I? ifeTT-a,

(..,. -ii jL-K-. it."-

Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. Psalm 127:1.

Tls so sweet to trust in Jesus, Just to take Him at His word, Just to rest upon His promise, Just to know, "Thus saith the Lord."

BIBLE CONFESSION Jesus declares in Matt. 10:32-33, "Whosoever therefore shall confess me hefore mMi. him will I confess also hefnve mv Father which is in heaven. But whoso"rr sall denv rne before men, him wW T nlA den" before my Father vhirh is in rnsn." And in Romans 10-10 we. red, "Fnr with the heart man helieveth unto r-'snteonsness: and with the rno"v confession is m?de nnto slvtinn." Tiius we see the absolute need for the se f o"r suls of confessing Christ with the mouth. What is the confession to which reference is he rade? So-called confessions are virtuaNv as numerous as are creeps nf men. But. dear reader, when finrl the Bible C0nfesB'on that will elim'nate "II nhers: for fnith comes bv hearirior the Word of God. Romans 10: 17. and whatsoever is not of faith is sin, Rn,ars 14;23. Hence, if it isn't in the Bible. t's o'nful to use. and must, therefore he eliminated. Furthermore, the PDnstle Paul beseeches us to sneak the same thine. I Cor. 1:10. The onlv wav w c?n accn'nnlish rhat is to sneak whore he B'ble cnks and remain silent where the Bible is silent. With snch nugMs before us. let us consult the B'bJo further in the matter. In Acts 8:36 the purnch asks. "What doth hinder mo to be bar)tizpd?" And that pronmfs tin's in verse 37. "And Philip said, if thou believest with all thine heart, then mavost. And he answered and said, T BELIEVE THAT JESUS

CHRIST IS THE SON OF GOD." In Matt. 16:16 we And that Peter made the same confession. Whereupon Jesus said. "Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona." This, then, is the Bible confession. What is the significance of the confession that Jesus Christ is God's son? First of all, it acknowledees the divimtv of Christ His messiahship. In this we recognize the essence of all scripture, the central truth of the Bible. The Old Testament looks forward to it; the New Testament looks back to it. Second'v, it is the truth uoon which the lord's church is founded. Matt. 16:1618 and Acts 4:11. And th'rdly. it sets forth the onlv name in which there is salvation. Acts 4:12. 'God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above everv name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of thines in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth ; and that everv tongue . should confess that Jesus Christ is T.n-d. to the glory of God the Father." Phil. 2:9-11. Yes, every tongue should make th's confession and will, sooner or later! If not before, it will be done, when "we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written. As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me. and every tongue shall confess to God." Romans 14:1011. But too late, too late will be our cry when merev's day has passed us by. If we wait till then, we will confess that our life has been lived inconsistent with the truth. We will have lived a lie!
