The death of M. H. Fitzgibbon, ead of the Kennedy Oil Co., in is home in Carnegie, Pa., was nnounced in a telegram resived by H. Marks, retired oil perator of this city who for ears was associated with Mr. itzgibbon in oil operations. Mr. itzgibbon was the father , of ie Sullivan County oil field,

having drilled in the first well in the Sullivan county field. The well, which was drilled on the Dix farm northwest of this city, opened up a field here which attracted attention all over the country.

A dean of girls for the Sullivan high school was appointed by the school board, thus creating a new feature in school management. Miss Elizabeth Hull was chosen dean and in addition to her duties in that capacity was also head of the English department. All teachers who will be rcem-
