ELM PARK NEWS Who ever heard of a playground being mowed the last week in March? Mr. Stanbaugh mowed ours last Friday. The boys are having trouble deciding whether to play marbles or change to Softball. The third grade Iwat tha fourth grade in the spelling contest this week. The score was 22 to 17.
Miss Willie' first graders had the moz-l money iter stamps again. They bought about $12.00 worth of stamps. Mrr.. Claude Karrell visited the first grade Friday. Marjorie Grimes and Dickie Dale Purcell, who had whooping cough, have returned to school. The second grade has two nsw oupils. Naomi Heady has been transferred from Junior High
:ccond grade and Tommy Shoe nakcr came from Detroit.
Gone Monk, Edward Thornberry and Garry Boone, of the third grade, all celebrated their ninth birthdays on Wednesday, March 27. The fourth grade saw the magician show at the community gym. We are sorry to lose Delores Benefiel to the fourth grade -at Old Gym. ' Ernest Grimes has been quite ill for the past week. Mr. Ferigo's tonette class Is progressing nicely. Those who do not take tonette lessons gather around etudy tables in the hall for a study period or a free reading period. Miss Shepherd tested ilie boys this week for points in physical fitness. This is a part of the physical education program.
