The two frort t;eth in the tapper jaw and their companions jrt the lower are; known as the 'central incisors. ; and make their appear

ance at from 6 to 8 ycirs of ag. On each ride of the central incisors are the lateral incisors which usually; erupt between the ages of .7 and 9. The names r.nd approximate eruptive dates of the other-permanent teeth are rs follows: Cuspids, 11 to 13 years; first' bicuspids 9 to 10 years; second bicuspids, 10 to 12 years; first molarr, 5 to 7 years; second molars, 11. to 14 years; and finally for back in the mouth, -.he third molars or wisdom testh, which appear from 17 to 21 years and sometimes later. The first psrmaner.t .molars, often called the sixth-year 'molars, because of the age at which they appear, are conMdsred the most important teeth in the permanent set. They are usually the 'first to erupt and they come in just back of the baby veeth. The normal development, of the dental arch depends largely on their position and condition. As

the permanent teeth develop ;'n the jaw they press against !he roots of the baby teeth, which ;caus2 the latter to dissolve and ' disappear . only the crown - re'maining. This of course, facilitates removal of the baby iooth. Parents ihould see to it that the child's permanent teeth nre examined just as soon as they erupt and that all defects or flaws, however slight, in the enamel are corrected at once before decay can set in. This will help preserve the teeth and pre

vent serious and destructive decay. ' Your local dental society will gladly answer questions relating to this article. BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT. INDIAN AFOLIS, Mar. 7 (UP) Culver's "iron man" Indians

are at it again. They're :c"0"kir at the doors of the Indiana r;tate high school basketball championship for the second i time in three years despite a lack of reserve strenrfb .hit seems almost unbelievable. Two years irgo the little Marshall county town of 1,600 produced a quintet that won 27 straight before losing a onepoint heartbreaker to LaPorte in a game which determined the northern-most representative in the four-team state finals. Four "of those "original 5ron men" have been graduated, but the ace of the 1944 Indians burly Roger Thews still is around and, with him as a nuc

leus, Culver has another starting five which goes the on tire game unless a man fouls out or victory is assured early. The Indian?, coached by Harold Sering, head-man at Sullivan before this year, have won 20 out of 24 starts. Their most impres:ive triumph, however, came last week' at South Bend's , regional. They dumped 23-game-winning ', Elkhart, 3835, to emerge as a good bet in a Lafayette sami-i.:ial which includes Eart Chicago Washington, pride of the far north, and Lafayette Jeff, the United Press choice for the state title. Culver meets Washington in the opener Saturday in Purdue's gym. Thews, a husky senior who stands a half inch above the six foot, mark, is, the key man ?or

the Indians. K2 plays a terrific rebound game on both backVani'. And, l,e i:" louuh with a one-hander from medium-short rnnge. where he played most of the game against' Elkhart and chucked in 18 points seven of them in the last two minutes. Thews scored 27 points in the Plymouth sectional finals and his average this season is 18 points a game. Joe Hoesel, at six feet one, and Ray Manis, at six feet vwo, round out Culver's "height.". Bill O.vermeyer a chunky five ;

foot seven inch senior,' teams wilh Thews and Manis for .he close-in work in Culver's customary three-in, twoout offense. Hoesel and five I-eet eight neh Don Milner hand!;? the back court. I Culver dopin't stick to a set offense all the time, of course, mixing in a sizzling fast break when the occasion demands. ?or

obvious rearons, the set style is relied on most. Sering readily concedes that he's "afraid oftr lack of csevf will hurt us badly." The starting five has gone the route in seven games this season. Tip-off on Culver's attitude

! comes from the fact that the j town didn't celebrate the re- ' gional title too much. ! "We're guinj' for keeps this Saturday," Sering will tell you, "and we're hoping that we'll really hac something to celebrate Saturday night."
