(Editor's Note: This list is made possible through the untiring efforts of Mrs. J. R. Riggs, Sullivan, who at the request of the Indiana Historian, Indianapolis, began compiling the list at the outbreak of World War II. With the state leader's death during the war days, most localities dropped their program but, realizing the value of such a record, Mrs. Riggs carried her work through to the end. This file, which is believed to be correct, will be submitted to the Sullivan American Legion Post No. 139 by Mrs. Riggs and wiil be used in the work of caring for the families of these war heroes.)
