The Arrows won going away, 41 to 30 after Wiley had enlivened the contest by almost catching up early in the final quarter. C.nsch Keck of Sullivan used an assortment of players at various staees of the game and the i Purple and Gold players never trailed. They moved ahead 10 to 5 bv the end of the first quarter and had a comfortable 23 to 13 margin at the half intermission after some sizzling passworic hrnneht the ball in for some set-up shots. The third quarter ended 26 to 21 for Sullivan and with five minutes remaining in the game, Wiley, thanks mostly to Ingram's sniping, pulled up to. a 27-28 score. Sullivan regulars returned at this point and quickly had command of the game again. Ingram scored 8 field goals for a sensational performance and Libke and Sims each registered five field goals and a charity toss to pace the Arrows. McCrocklin, Sullivan reserve, singed the net with a lone one as the gun sounded and just a few I seconds after he had entered the fray. Sullivan began collecting their foul attempts in the late stages of the game after missing with regularity during the first three quarters. They were good for 7 free ones in 20 attempts while Wiley bagged 8 for 15. The Keck cagers rolled in 17 field goals in 61 attempts and Wiley hit but 11 , for 57. j The Sullivan "B" team faded I badly in the final half to drop a ' 30 to 14 decision to the Wiley Red Sparks in the preliminary game. Noland of Bloomington, who is now in the Army, and is in command of the U. S. Army Transport Cuba, in return of overseas forces, may be a candidate for Congress in the. 7th District. It wa expected that his father, Dr. O. A. "Noland for Congress" clubs are expected to announce him as a candidate in the next few days, and they plan to carry on his campaign until his release which is expected to be soon. The "Noland for Congress" clubs believe that the young men of World War II are destined to be our leaders of the future. Cap't. BRITISH DARKEN BREAD FORMULA The British government put Britain's bread formula back where it was in the worst days of the U-boat warfare during the war and announced there would be less bacon, poultry and eggs. Sir Ben Smith, food minister, said in Commons that the world wheat supplies were more than 5,000,000 f6ns short of requirements and that Britain had no reserve. Then he told Britons this bad news: -. Unless wheat consumption in Great Britain is decreased, it might be necessary to ration bread. Bread will be darker because flour must be made to include more bran in it.
