SOCIETY Woman's Club The Woman's Club met Tuesday afternoon in the club room of the public . library with Mrs. Paul Poynter as hostess. Fourteen members were present. Mrs. C. F. Briggs reported that seven novels, forty-eight pocket mystery stories and forty-three decks of cards had been sent in the name of the club to Billings Hospital. A delightful New Year's greeting was read from Mrs. W. N. Thompson, who is spending the winter with her daughter, Mrs. Edson Murray, in Rensselaer,' Indiana. Mrs. Waldo Wheeler, the president, announced that plans ' are underway for the Julia Kalley Memorial guest day tea which is to be held March 12. The panel discussion was based on the statement, "New high school and college objectives will offer a bridge whereby the deficiencies of old educational methods will give way to the new doctrine of general education." In the absence of Mrs. Teal Whitaker and Mrs. Tom Reid, the leader, Mrs. J. ,H. Crowder, Jr., presented the background of education in the United States, the problems arising from the diversity of students, and the types of collegiate institutions and their methods of general education.
