THE POLAR BEAR CLUB of Milwaukee has its own way of welcoming in a new year, and it's doubtful if any non-member tried to muscle in on the celebration. Shown above, the members, donned in brief Bwirasuits, take a briefer dip in Lake Michigan's icy waters to keep the New Year's tradition. CARLISLE BUSINESS CHANGES HANDS The Sprcatt Grocery and Meat Market in Carlisle is now under the ownership of Morris Faiis, of Carlisle, who became the new owner January 1st. The store which was purchased by Mr. Faris from Charles V. Sproatt, was begun in April of 1925 by Mr. Sproatt and his brother, Steve Sproatt, who bought out the business. Ths Sproatt brothex-s partnership flourished progressively during the many years and v;as dissolved in 1041, and Charles V. Sproatt became the owner. Mr. Faris, coming to Carlisls from Oaktown, for several years has been the manager of the Carlisle Kroger Store. He will be remembered as the son of Rev. Faris, Methodist minister at Shelburn several years ago. Mr. Sproatt has been in poor health for some time, which was his rsason for selling, ha said. Under the new ownership, the firm will be known as the Faris Grocery. ney'u Do It Every VS, . y.y tsLj iiJ"it ""i. 'Aims J till 1 COPR 1B4S, KINO PEtfUBES SYNDICATE, liw. WORLD
