INDIANA AND THE TOURISTS (From Noblesville Morning Times) Recent newspaper accounts have related to, Hoosierdom
the fact that our state heads are going to put some steam into a post-war drive to bring Indianaward a host of the nation's tourists. This is one drive wj can really mark as well-
timed and much-needed. ' , Of course, every state has a chamber of commerce to draw up publicity, campaigns and to plug the state's natural advantages as a resort center and vacation-playground. The
an.aual miiiions of tourists dollars in this country makes these j chambers well worth while but Indiana hasn't ever really "gunned" for a greater share of this business. j The persons wiio will be responsible for. selling Indiana to tourists will have a deep well of facts and figures encouraging to tourist business for Indiana has changes of scenery and outdoor facilities as have few .other states. For example : Starting in the south and working northward Evansville with the mighty Ohio flowing by and. the picturesque louts and water travel. Vincennes of historic fame and legend.-The sheer wild beauty and stateliness of the hills of Blown County an artist's paradise. Tne great central slate itummg and manufacturing interests with rolling, fields of C'icen corn marching to the very doorsteps of great factories ;H:mming with production. Yes, there shouldn't be too much trouble in selling Indiana as a really great vacation state. The natural friendliness and hospitality of the Hoosier state arc added attractions v)nch are priceless. The real-do vvn-Lo-earlh. food and the reasonable prevalent prices m trie state ale other inducements for trie tourist to see Indiana, "One of the Great of the 48."
