Starkey, chief bee inspector of the Indiana Department of Conservation, today warned beekeepers to expect a second epidemic of swarming the latter part of this month, or the first two weeks in July. He based his prediction on the fact that cold, rainy weather in recent weeks had checked honey flow by confining bees to their hives, although the white and other clovers are In full bloom at this time. This had damaging results, Starkey said. First was curtailment of brood rearing and the other was consumption of food supplies. The Eastern Star will meet Thursday night, June 14th at 8:00 p. m. There will be work and all members are urged to attend.
