HOME WITH HONORS Charles ' Knight, Pharmacist Mate 1c, of the United States Navy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Knight of Carlisle, is now enjoying a 30-day leave at his home in Carlisle. ' The Carlisle sailors rest follows many months of active service with .-a Marine Division : in the Pacific and where while administering aid to the, wounded he himself was seriously wounded. ' .. Knight,' who arrived last Friday evening at - his Sullivan County home, went in with the fourth assault wavei in the Iwo Jima landing," While the battle of Iwo was pretty tough, he reported, still it was not as bad as he had expected. Knight was wounded February 19th at Iwo, being later transferred to the Great Lakes Naval Hospital for hospitalization where lie is now stationed. While overseas he served in the Marsha lis and at Saipan, in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater, and has been awarded the Presidential Unit Citation and a personal letter of commendation.
