MAKE A YICrOflY GARDEN As the European phase of the war draws to a close, the rejoicing is tempered by the statement from those who are in a position to know, that more than a million and a half people in Europe will die of starvation within the next twelve months. This will happen despite the effort that will be made by more fortunate peoples to share their food with these starving- nations. Already we are warned that the American people will not eat so well during 19 io and 1,9 16 as they have for the past three years of the war. In consequence a greater effort than was put forth in 1944 by the people of the United States is urgent. Up to the present time it is reported that fewer citizens are raising gardens this yenr than last. The season is late, April having been both cold and wet, but there is still time to put a garden in and the necessity for doing so is more apparent every day. The people of Sullivan County are urged to make yet another contribution a Victorv Garden iu 1943!
