mandeered all German grain stocks for bread as the food crisis increased within the Reich and Heinrich Himmler was reported to have taken over the" death-stand defense of Berlin.
DEMOCRATS ASK PROBE CONTINUE. Senator Theodore F. Green of Rhode Island, chairman of the Senate Committee on Privileges and Elections, yesterday presented to the Senate a resolution by the Indiana Democratic State Committee asking for a continued investigation into the recent Indiana general election. The resolution was adopted by the state committee Jan. 31, 1945. The resolution was filed while Senator Green's committee on campaign expenditures was awaiting a report by a subcommittee which made an investigation in Indianapolis last December of charges of conspiracy and fraud in the Indiana vote. The resolution asking further investigation charges that there was "widespread fraud and illegality practiced by certain Republican officials ... to prevent voting by Democratic and independent voting;" that thousands of qualified voters were prevented from voting and that ''because of the formulation and carrying out of this criminal conspiracy, Democratic candidates for public office including the Democratic candidate for United States senator, were de-
