George Renick formerly lived here working as bartender for George Gardner for several years. It was while woking there that he found the whisky label with Miss Atkinson's address on it and wrote to the i young woman. Renick is now employed as a bartender in Indianapolis.
This week President McConnell of DePauw will go to Indianapolis to meet with Governor Marshall and the presidents of the other colleges and universities of the state to confer on edurational matters. Governor Marshall has invited many of the school men to this conference to see if it be possible to find an answer to many of the vexed questions of education now confronting the state, especially education at the state schools. It is generally believed that education for the few at the state colleges is costing the state too much money. Tt is now urged that education there costs much more than at the non-state schools both as to the
state and student.
Then the governor also wishes to know if some method of controlling these schools can not he found that is superior to the present system of three boards, one for each of the three state schools. He will ask if it would be possible for a single board to handle the affairs of all the state school and thus prsvent as
