Carmel, lud., stating that Charles Ginther, wanted at Roachdale for forging a check, was located in their city, Marshal Reeves made a "hurry-. up” trip to the southern tow n Tues-1 day. But tl* man found proved to a brother of Ginther, the forger, and i nothing was done. Ginther walked into Andrew Cross' livery barn at Koachdale on December 1 and asked for'a rig to make some country calls. He said he was a representative of the Western Candy and Bakers’ Supply Company of St. Louis and that lie was out of funds beacuse has missed the last check the company had sent. After paying the money for the rig, he asked Cross to casn a check for for-ty-live dollars and as the man looked "good,” as he expected it, Mr. Cross gave him cash amounting to that sum. The rig was found the next day at Bainbridge and the man had disappeared. It was thought that he must have walked out of that town as no ticket was bought by tickets were bought by strangers on that night. This action aroused Cross’ suspicions and he immediately injuired about the check, which
