Petition to Improve a Highway. Notice is hereby given by the undersigned Auditor of Putnam County, Indiana, that there has been filed in his office a petition by Robert W. Bunten et al, for the improvement of a certain public highway in Cloverdale Township, said County, and that said petition is set for hearing before the Board of County Commissioners of said County, on Monday, the 2nd day of November, 1908, the same being the first day of the November Term, 1908, of said Board. Which said petition is in the following words and figures to-wit: We the undersigned citizens and free holders of Cloverdale Township, Putnam County, Indiana, do hereby petition the Honorable Board of Commissioners of Putnam County, Indiana, to order to be macadamized with stone the following described road, to-wit: Beginning at the southeast corner of the northeast quarter of the northeast quarter of section nine (9) township twelve (12) north range four (4) west. This corner being the west boundary of road No. four (4) Aly Neier petition Cloverdale Township road. Running thence south on and along the present road on the east line of said section as now laid out and used about sixty (60) rods to where the first branch of said road turns west, thence in a westerly and a southerly direction across said section nine (9) on and along the present road, known as the Even Cline road, as now laid out and used to a point where said Even Cline road intersects the Poland and Greencastle road, in section eight (8), Township twelve (12) north, range four (4) west. Thence in a northerly direction as said Greencastle and Poland road is now laid out and used to a point where said Poland and Greencastle road connects with road number three (3) Aly Neier petition Cloverdale Township roads, and crosses the south line of the northeast quarter of section five (5) township twelve (12) north range i west, containing two and three-quarters (2%) miles more or less and less than 3 miles. And we further petition your honorable board that said improvement be accomplished under the acts of the legislature of Indiana pr ivlding for the construction of highways of three (3) miles and less in extent be ordered constructed without an election. Which said petition is in the following words and figures, to-wit: To the Honorable Board of Commissioners of Putnam County, Indiana; We, the undersigned petitioners, respectfully represent to your honorable body, that we and each of us are free holders and legal voters of Jefferson Township In Putnam County, Indiana, and we ask that you take the proper legal, lawful proceedure to improve the following public highway situate in said Jefferson township and described as follows, to-wit: Beginning in the center of a free macadam road or highxvay at the southwest corner of the northwest quarter of the northeast quarter of section eleven (11), township thirteen (13) north, range three (3j xvest, in Putnam County, Indiana; thence north in the center of and with the public highxvay on the half section line running through said section eleven (11), to a point in said highway Intersecting the John W. McCammack free macadam road, and being a total distance of about 190 rods. And your petitioners ask that said public highway above described be Improved by grading, draining and paving with macadam, from and between said terminal points, and we further show that said road connects and intersects with a free macadam road at the beginning and terminus. We ask that said improvement be ordered xvithout submitting the same to an election by the voters of said township, as said highxvay to be improved is less than three miles in length, to-wit: 190 rods in length.
