The Brazil fight on the Traction

purposely and is glad of it. This was the message which Vice President Appel conveyed to the business men’s committee at a meeting in the directors’ room of the Brazil Trust
company last evening.
A mass meeting of all business men of the city will ho held at the Council chamber Wednesday night to perfect a permanent organization of a business men’s commercial club which promises to look after the city’s Interest in the future. It may be that they will get the stable locked before all the horses are gone, but the hope is rather forlorn. One of the first acts of this organization will be to ask the Council to purchase the Brazil Electric company plant. They will also ask that the management of the plant be placed in the hands of a non-parti-san commission and will ask the Council to appoint one Republican and one Democrat member of this commission and authorize the business men’s association to appoint the other member. The business men are of the opinion that this will have more effect on the traction company than any other step that
can be taken at this time.

One Child Whose Death Is Hourly Expected and Nearly Twenty Children Exposed and Epidemic Is Feared. Dr. Moser Friday morning sailed upon local druggists for a large supply of anti-toxin to combat a possible epidemic of the diphtheria at Belle Union. It was stated that one child, was geriously sick before It was diagnosed as diphtheria, the disease having come as the culmination of other complaints. About twenty children have been exposed, and it is feared that diphtheria might become epidemic, favored as it is by the bad weather of the present. However anti-toxin will be used and little danger is apprehended.

SHE DID NOT FEAR DEATH. An old lady on her seventy-third birthday once said, "I do not mind getting old, and I do not fear death, hut I live in constant dread of
paralysis.”
“For some time I have been wanting to tell you of the great good your wonderful Sloan’s Liniment is doing here.*’ writes Mr. James F Abemethy, of Rutherford College. N. “In fact, all your remedies are doing noble work, but your Liniment beats all. i n my eight vears’ experience with medicine I find none lr> go ahead of it, having tried it in very many cases. 1 know of one young man, a brick mason, who suffered from a partial, yes. almost complete, paralysis of one arm. 1
