A Little Talk With those who are contemplating the purchase of a new cloak for the winter will not go amiss even if it is election day. Common sense tells the shrewd shopper that tjie place to buy is the place where no expense or time has been spared to get the beSt line that is obtainable. That is what has been done in this store. A special buyer was sent to Cleveland— the home of cloak builders—to purchase the stock you will see in the cloak department. IT IS THE BEST What more could be asked I. VERMILION

A'very pleasant surprise was that given J. M. Herod on Sunday, Nov. 4, the occasion being the 66th anniversary of Mr. Herod. At 10 o’clock the relatives to the number of about fifty arrived. At noon two long tables were spread and a bountiful feast was served and ail present did Justice to it. Mr. Herod was remembered with a number of useful presents. In the afternoon a social time was had and late in the evening a photographer came and took their picture, and then all present left for home wishing Mr. Herod to live to see many more such birthdays. There Is quite an epidemic of tonsilltis In this neck o’ the woods.
