fi.r this is to reqrind cylinders and get ain-ir pi.-tons ai.d ring's. It Is diff; u!t to locate thi- cylinder at fault. e-;eci.illy iri a bloek motor, but it i .sometimes aromplished by u?i: ; a long stud rod. or piece of doodling and touching it to the differ at clinders while holding the ear lose against the other end. The cyliader at fault will give the loudest noi-'-.

mxrrrii hints. Tae holes drilled in the muffler are sometimes rough and ragged, with the result that the escaping gases set up a whistling noise anything but agreeable. Smoothing oft the rough edges will usually eliminate the unwelcome sound.

The sides of the car, which houses a 4 5-horse power engine, have been, so constructed that they may be lowered and so latched as to create two berths for sleeping purposes on either side of the body, while the driver's seat can be transformed similarly. At the rear of the car on each side Is the kitchen equipment with plenty of drawer space filled with kitchen utensils. The refrigerator is spacious and Is hung beneath the body running along the lower edge of the chassis. It haa adequate lighting equipment and storage epace for baggage. Even havlrtg mirrors and toilet requisites are availlble.

In cleaning the muffler after

ha disassembled and the parts!

cleaned with kero-ene it is welfto go over all the holes with a sharp punch or fine taper reamer to make sure that these holes have not been reduef-d in size by accumulation at rarbon.

Peasants Ownership is to be Protected, But They Can't Sell or Lease. MOSCOW. Sep. 16. A new land law ha been published by the All Russian Central committer, codifying ail suggestions made br the recent All Russian congress. The law has a distinct pro-peasant lant. Bach village may decide how the land within Its borders Is to b worked by oorarruunal methods, individual methods. Individual farms, or cooperative large-cale farming. Every peasant Is protected in the right to the land eo long as he usgs it; but he can neither sell it nor mortgage it nor give it away, nor even rent It, except under certain stresses of misfortune which may make short-term renting necessary. Land courts are established as part of the machinery of government, from village bodies up to the highest Central Land court, which la chosen by the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Justice and confirmed by the Central Kxecutlve committee. Appeals may be carried up to the highest court.

and must be heard on each appeal within two weeks.

Increasing popularity of nclod cars has p-d body builders to plan frrfher Improvements 'on these mod el. The one bic step mad in clo--d far manufacture has been the s jbsti?ut;on of prysM ;teei for th oldtime wood cor.5truetion. With the introduction of this r.ew type ha come the possibility of reduction in the cot of thee cars. Thrt reason for this is that preyed steel bodies afford machine, or quantity, production. A large amount of hand-fitting work has been eliminated and simplicity and compactness of design obtained. With it has come a greater strength in the structure of the body. Kvn the weight has been reduced somewhat. At the?e changes have made for a chtaaer. although better, enclosed car. I'.ut. although quantity production of the srteel parts of the body have helped considerably, one great benefit will come from the possibility of reducing the number of coats of paint. Heretofore an automobile body ha required 15 or more paintings before it could be declared finished. Now it is believed only two or three coats of hard-baking enamel would do. I5e?!des. body builders say the enamel would stand up better than paint against varying weather conditions and would 'prove a sturdier resistant to mud and water.

The first thing you will notice about the car is the new and distinctive beauty which Dodge Brothers have brought to it. The cowl is higher and more graceful. The radiator is more dashingly shaped. A new smartness and distinction of line is obvious from end to end. The upholstery is done in genuine mohair velvet of the finest quality. Rear arm rests and deep, wide seats contribute to the comfort of riding The fittings and trimmings are in excellent taste, and include nickeled window regulators, etched dome light, horsehair carpets, body heater, windshield cleaner, Yale door locks and weatherstripped doors and windows. Eighteen coats of paint and varnish, hand-applied over an equal number of days, account for the exquisite finish of the exterior. Steel disc wheels (with cord tires) harmonize with the lines of the body and screen the under parts of the chassis. Yet in spite of its ample and inviting luxury, owners will tell you that the cost of running the car is exceptionally low.
