Whitmer in drawing up confessions made by the boys. Although Bauer's statement was completed. the confession of Hanson was halted at midnight to be resumed again this morning. Finger prints of both were taken last nlght and the work

Five o'clock in the afternoon of Saturday, Sept. 2, about one mile west of Plymouth were agreed upon by both as the time and place of the brutal murder. In the course of Hanson's statement, he informed Capt. Hamilton

that Bauer, after having killed Johnson and dragged his body into

the rear of the car, leaned over the seat of the machine, grasped htm (Hanson) by the hand and said, "Now isn't that better than holding him up and giving him a chance to sqanwk to the police after?" LEGION'S OPENING MEETING TONIGHT

Special Ceremony Planned for 'Mobilization Night' Occasion. Official of South Hend post No. 50. American Legion, are expecting more than 600 members to be present tonight at 8 o'clock att the first meeting of the season to be held In the the Chamber of Commerce. Tonight his been named "Mobilization N'ipht" and the meeting will be in charge of A. 11. MacDonald. Isst year's commander. Receive Word of Death of Mrs. Horace Binnerman Word has been received at the heme of Daniel Rich of ih dath ol Mrs. Hertha Reck Uinnenmm. wife of Horace Rinnerman of Orlando, Fla. Mr. and Mrs. Rinnerman formerly lived in South Rend, the former having been connected with the circulation department of the NewsTimes. Mrs- Hinnerman had been in ill health for sexeral months, and about a week ago r-'he went to the home of her brother. Dr. J. W. Keck, at drux-er, la-, ir the hope that a change of climate would be of benefit. She died Wednesday morning. Mrs. Rinnerman xvas the daughter of Rev. Samue! Perk, formerly oi South Rend. ?he i survived bv her husband and brother. Funeral arrangements have not heen completed.
