S experimental station at Steenbers's farms. The meeting place fnr next year'a convention was not selected, but it is believed some point in Florida will be chosen for the seventeenth annual convention.

17 Hurt in Rear End Collision in Dense Fog JERSEY CITY, X. J-. Aug. 31
(Tiv IT. P.) Seventeen persons were
injured. ?ome seriously today when
two Hudson and Manhattan electric
trains collided in a dense fog on the Hackensack meadowa.
Passengers on the rear car of the
train which was muck were hurl
ed against iron uprights and some
were cut by flying glass.
Several of the eteen cars were so
smashed that it was nece?3iry to
send a wrecking train to the ectne
and all traffic was tied up.
Removal of the injured was difn-
cult. as the wreck occurred at a
spot whero the track cro33 a swamp
known as tne meaaow. The more seriously hurt were placed on a. relief train and rushed o Jersey City where ambulances were waiting at the station to convey them to hospitals.

Columbia University recently started the first teachers training course in eye conservation In this country. Observation of classes of children with eye defects is part of the course.
Lip pine ott 's Class to Reopen Season Sunday Opening meeting of the fall term for Dr. C. A. Lippincotl's Men's Bible class will bo held at the First Tresbyterian church next Sunday mornir.fi at 9:4." o'clock, at which time plans for the winter will be outlined. Dr. Lippincott will take personal charge of the class and many interesting talks will be iven by him and other speakers. Last year the class had a membership of 200 men and this number is expected to be greatly increased this term.
