Bridge Through Which Truck Crashed Is Being Repaired INDIANAPOLIS. July 27. Officials of the state highway commission are rushing work on repairs to a bridge over Whitewater, on State Ro:id No. ii at Metamora. which was badly damaged by a truck breaking through the structure recently. Tiie accident which damaged the bridge, according to W. J. Titus, chief bridge engineer of the highway department, was very peculiar. A 5-ton truck enroute from Chicago to Cincinnati with a capacity load of varnish, broke through the bridge floor but was prevented from falling into the stream by catching on a pier of the structure. The accident at thi bridge, officials said, frhould serve as a warnIn? against the overloading of trucks used in hauling over state roads.
