and paint the four pages of magic pictures and

THE
SEVEN
ULES OF
I " f H bi ra . J
1. BE ORDERLY Do not leave clippings or paste or water and brushes lying around for Mother to pick up, or perhaps Dacfdy won t ouy you any more Magic Color Books. 2. GO SLOW That "haste makes waste" is especially true in making cut-outs of toys and games, and in coloring the magic pictures. Take time. It will pay. 3. BE CAREFUL A snip too far with the scissors spoils everything. If you haven't cut quite far enough at first, it's easy to cut a little farther, but a cut once made can't be undone. 4. STUDY THE DIRECTIONS It is always well to "look before you leap." Understand what you are going to do before you start to do it. Every cutout toy in the Magic Color Book will work all right if made according to directions. 5. PAINT SLOWLY Paint each part of the picture separately, with brush merely damp, net dripping; then wash the brush before painting the next part. Otherwise the colors will mix and spoil the effect. 6. TAKE PRIDE IN YOUR WORK Anything that's worth doing at all is worth doing well. Do your very best. It will give you more pleasure than doing things badly.
7.
WASTE NOTHING Save Barnes and flat cutouts between narpc nf
large books. You will soon have a fine lot of toys and games for rainy days.
