This growth has been built up out of earnings after Federal Tax payment totaling nearly $1,05C,CC0 and cash dividend payments to stockholders aggregating about $550,000. The company manufactures the old established and well-known line of "Celfor" drills and other metal-cutting machine tools and is also one of the largest producers of steel wheels and rear axles for motor trucks. In addition to a well established foreign business, the company's customers cover the United States and its prcdocts have been in standardized use for msny years in the railroad, automotive and metal-working industries. The company 1 accorded tr.c maximum commercial and credit rating by Dua and Bradstreet and its management has remained unchanged for the past tpventecn years. SECURITY: A direct closed first mortgage upon all of the fixed properties of the company now owned or hereafter acquired. As of November 30, 1921, the Coats and Burchard Company, Public Appraisers and Engineers, reported the replacement value of these properties as $2,314,261.76 and their net sound depreciated value as $1,963,764.72, or nearly two and one-half times the total bond issue. ASSETS: The company's balance sheet as ot December 31, 1921 as certified bv Price, Waterhouse cSc Company, and after giving effect to this financing shows current assets of over eight times all current and accrued liabilities. Net current assets azzregate $1,444,235.91 end ?:et tangible assets total $3,594,392.14, or respectively in excess of SI, SOS and 34,492 for each 31,000 bond of this issue. (These f.pure; give no consideration to the Companys numerous patents and trade-marks and it; gecd-wi!!.)
NET EARNINGS: With the exception of 1921 (which, however, showed a profit from manufacturing operations) the company's operations have been profitable in every year since 1904. During the seven-year period from 1915 to 1921, inclusive, net earnings before Federal Taxes averaged $450,000 per annum, more than eight times the ma::imumannualbond interest requirements an J nearly four times theyearly average of principal and interest requirements combined. These net earnings were after ail expensesof operation which included all interest paid on borrowed money, heavy annual depreciation, bonuses and profit-sharing distributions to employees and a drastic reduction of inventory values in 1921. For the fifteen-year period from 1907 to 192 l,inclusive,net e'amings similarly computed averaged $225,000 per annum, or over four times the h.rgest annual interest requirement of this bond issue.
