Fortunate is the city whose people live and breathe as one, with a civic, social and industrial pride that is backed by a united, faithful spirit of cooperation. Such a city lives a life of real activity, constantly throbbing with rhythmic constructiveness and progress: forever uniting in things designed for the betterment of living and working conditions; realizing that personal thrift and industrial expansion go hand in hand. Such a city is South Bend. Roger V. Babi-on of Wellesley, Mass., the great industrial and financial statistician, has recently declared South Bend to be the healthiest city financially in the United States. To have reached this enviable position from imong the hundreds of large and great industrial -enters scattered ever the length and breadth of thi1 rreat nation, means more than a mere happening It means that a true spirit of thrift, civic pride and industrial expansion exists in the minds and hearts of the men and women and the children of this city. It means that we are united in an effort to make South Bend the best there is; the best and highest in ideals, in schools and churches, in living conditions, social and industrial progress; that our homes be the best, our factories and our products be meritorious and well patronized; that each of us desires our banks and their deposits to grow; that, so far as possible, we shall keep our funds in our local banks and invested in our local industries; that we shall constantly lend our every effort to make our city, our banks and our industries grow larger and larger, nd improve ourselves individually, and collectively; that we will, in the near future, double our population, our wealth and our production and usefulness. ; We wish to thank the residents of South Bend and vicinity for their willing and generous response to our recent offering of the 8 r r Cumulative Preferred stock of the South Bend Woolen Company Sound Sfr investments will not long be available 3nd those who have been fortunate in securing somr of this unusual security, have not only benefitted themselves, but they have helped South Bend they have assisted in the progress of the Woolen Company and are keeping their mony inve-td safely at home for the benefit of all South Bend We h ave but a limited amount of th is issue now 'nsold and will be pleased to execute your ordr or any amount, from one share ($100.00 each) to as many as desired. South Bend Woolen Preferred is non-taxable in Indiana and free from the normal federal income tax. For those who desire to invent savings fund?, w; provide a partial payment plan. Ask us about it.
