CHICAGO. April 7. Wheat averaged a little higher in price Friday, helped upward by firmness of quotations at Liverpool and by sellers here holding off to avoid any surprise in the government crop report. The market closed unttbd at a gain of ; to net with May 1.0 to 1"07-, and July 1F.c; to
li:a-. Corn finished unchanged to'
higher; Oats unchanged to i up. and provisions varying from D cents dt ne to 75 c?iim advance. Or.utiousneps which would-bc fellers of wheal evinced regard in c the government report was apparently moro or le.-,s mistaken for a slightly l-er, risli construction of the report was general when the document he.anie public after the close of the
day's trading. The view most widely)
taken was that crop conditions had Improved since the statistic were gathered on which the report was ba.-ed. Further offers of wheat shipments from Omaha to Chicago, together with sales, of wheat to go to Stc r here, led to something of a
setback in prices during the latei dealings. j Corn and oats price refte -tej to some, extent the upward tendency ot , the wheat market. On the- other hand, reven corn products minufac-i tuiing plans were reported as hiv-; ing shut down owing to slackness of demand. i
