OPERA STARS QUIT

GERALDINE FARRAR LUCIEN MURATORE AND WIFE

Geraldine Farrar will not be with the Metropolitan Opera next season after 15 years service. She refused

to sign a short-term contract. Her contract expiring this year was for five years. This is Farrar's latest picture. She is holding "Sniffles," her pet "Peke." Lucien Muratore, tenor, will not be with the Chicago opera next year. He says Mary Garden, director, is "too changeable." Photo shows him at his home with his wife, Lina Cavalieri, whose appearance with the Chicago opera early in the season was canceled.
