Little Giants Play Stellar Basketball and Win, 34-22 Height and Weight of College Team Big Factor in Victory Burnham and Kizer Star for Loral-, While Ooldsbrrrv and IVare Feature Plav of Scarlet.

Johnny Wilson to Be Given Chance

Playing a superior brand of basketball and with their opponents handicaped by height and weight, Wabash college's illusrious basketball team administered a stiff setback to the South Bend Y. M. C. A. net tosscrs at the association gym last night. The score was 34 to 22. Wabash brought 12 men to the city. Their first string crowd towered above the Y. M. C. A. crew, which fought valiantly to litem the flood of baskets which the Little Giants showered into the hoop. At the end of the first half Wabash led by but five

points, and at no time did their lead exceed that figure in the jfcond period until the cloe of the play, when the Scarlet five let a furious pace. The South Bend "ace," BurnHam, was covered as never before. Despite the fact that he tore through two and three guards, he was hurried so in his tossing triat throws which ordinarily would have been certain r.ores, looped the basket rather than falling through. It was his work, however, which kept the "Y" in the game with his five ba-ket. Rhodes attempted many long shots, but his usual basket getting ability was lacking and his efforts went wild.

If the orange and blue baskttballers can take the Eng'.ewood and Morgan Park Military academy teams into camp, even by tho slightest of margins, their chances of receiving; an invitation to the fectional tourney at Chicago are practically assured. If tho locals 4'ire beaten, then their chances depend upon the showing made against their rival. These two schools represent the cream of Chicago's prep teams, each school having two and three teams, rated lightweight, heavyweight and featherweight. Coach Durnham has warned his men that if they expect to win from the Windy City five, they mu.-t play a good defensive game; alio ho pointed out that whenever any Chicago team Is elefeated it is by .1 small margin, and the scores are always low.
