1 J That I have gone about far enough esoivea. with mv foolish and reckless snend-

ing; that I owe it not only to mysef but to those who arc or may be dependent upon me to stop right now. I can't spend my money and have it, too. I'll quit my senseless extravagance and save some of the money I earn in my labor. The one and only way to get ahead in life is to put money in the bank regularly and keep it there until 1 get a good start and then invest it sensibly in accordance with the advice of my bankers. It's a good thing to do and I'll do it at once and open an account with the

Farmers Trust Co. Savings accounts started on or before January 1 Oth draw interest from January 1st, at 4.

And furthermore be it resolved that I shall buy all my new tires from Taylor the Tire Man 132 E. Jefferson

T I J That rny Christmas was not all that Kesoivea: it might have been due to the fact that there was a lack of music in the house. Resolution

Whereas, The high cost of living that we read so much about a year ago (or more) has resolved itself into the high cost of existing; and, Whereas, The needs of the people of this nation are greater than ever before and the means with which to satisfy them are less; and, Whereas, The situation cannot be avoided or suddenly changed and must be met squarely face to face and the problem solved by all as individuals; there, be it Resolved, That the best way to meet the situation is by care ful preparation and rigid economy, and that the best way to make that preparation and practice that economy is through patronizing the persons and concerns whose advertisements appear on this page, and this we agree to do for the coming year. MR AND MRS. REALLY R. WISE. January 1, 1 922.

J 7 that on this first day of the 6SO LV6GL vear I shall plan to see installed as soon as possible a REGULAR furnace such as the Thatcher, Mahoney, and Twentieth Century. And, furthermore, that I shall tip off my friends that the best and most furnace repairing done in this city is handled by ' The Jordan-Surguy Company In Chard & Tompsett's Hardware Store 309 South Michigan Street Lincoln 5584

Resolved:

On this first day of the year that 1 shall make mine a home beautiful.

Fully realizing that this can be best done by the installation of time and labor-saving contrivances such as the Thor Washer, the Thor Ironer and the iMcCray Refrigerator. Further, be it resolved that I shall equip my fireplace with andirons to heighten its beauty. And in view of the fact that I have already seen one very wonderful display, I shall recommend to all my friends

The South Bend Marble & Tile Company 409 South Michigan St.

D I Jf That I shall no longer jeopltoU LUdLLp ardize the happiness of my family by failing to guard myself against the innumerable risks that I face daily. To my children and to my wife I owe the safety and satisfaction of a safeguard against the calamity of dependence, and so I have decided that I shall avert the catastrophe of my family being impoverished on account of my improvidence and near-sightedness. No matter how meager my income may be during the year to come, I am going to fulfill my obligations to my wife and children, and the best way of realizing this end is to take out an insurance policy with The Conservative Life Ins. Co.

n -rlr That about the most foolish thing I tdCr fcCwCt can do is to be running around town on business and pleasure, dodging motorcycles, automobiles, lightning, street cars and the like, without any accident insurance; running around in the cold and wet, sitting in drafts, eating everything anywhere, mixing with sorts of people under all conditions, without any health insurance; going to bed nights without shutting off the drafts, leaving matches for the rats to gnaw, depending on the electrician to prevent crossed-wire blazes, without any fire insurance; leaving my machine about the town without automobile insurance, and leaving my home to the mercies of burglars without burglar insurance. I owe it to myself and family to provide against loss from these causes, and I am going to see an insurance man and get the several policies I need. From what I have been able to learn, the best companies are represented in this town by L. E. Greenan Agency Farmers Trust Building Main 2510

who believe in giving flowers to the living and making their lives happy. I will brighten the winter days with the cheering presence of flowers. I will see that the wife, at home with the daily cares and burdens, is left a message of love in the form of flowers. 1 will see that my dear old mother's life is'made more joyful by a message such as only flowers can convey. I will send flowers for valentines. I will use them to express my sentiment of love and friendship wherever I can, for nothing speaks more sincerely. I will see that my friends, ill at home or in the hospital, have flowers as a token of sympathy. Giving or sending flowers is made easy by the large assortment carried and excellent service given by

Resolved:

That I shall continue to build up health and happiness for my family

by taking GRAN'MA'S BREAD. In view of the fact that in the past it has always proven satisfactory, and considering the fact that I have found it more nourishing, more pure, and better baked than any other brand of bread, I shall continue to urge my friends to buy it, too. And I shall suggest that they get in the breadline of the MATHEWS KRAUSS BAKING CO.
