WOMAN'S CLUB It) PRESENTATION OF SPARKLING COMEDY
Large Attendance Marks Meeting of Unofficial Drama League. Satire, wit and parklinr dialogue held tho boards at the, ;ifth bi-weoklj meeting of Mlshawaka'n unoihclal dnnta league yesterday afteinocn. What Ys perhaps known a.s the wittiest and cleverest comedy in the theatrical f.mamcnt of one acl plays, "Joint Owners 1n tpain," by Alice Iiroivn, uas presented by the Department of Literature of the Mlshawaka Woman's Club, on the occasion of the fifth seasonal meeting in tho auditorium of the public library. One hundred and sixteen club women packed the small auditorium yesterday afternoon and were piven a genuine dramatic treat by the work of Miss Mildren Fonda, who directed and staped the play, and her co-workors. Thi 5s by far tht largest audience in local club history' to attend a departmental rneetlr.fr. Tho one act comedy was friven as h legitimate play, in costume, and tho small auditorium staro was Just biff, enou'-rh to permit tho faithful repro-j duction of a room in an old ladies-' j hom.e. Much credit attaches to Muss Fonda and her associates for tho accurate stare settintr, 9cenlc effects and fjrnishinss of the room. Abuiid.s In Wit. The comedy is a clever fatlre and abounds In witty and fparkllmr dialogue. The srene Ls an old ladies' home and the differences arl.ein? because of the Inability of two of the inmates to get alonp. It is along these line that the dialogue and satire rise.s to almost perfect heiKhts. They two disturbers are locked up in one room and allowed to fettle their differences. Mrs. Margaret Hindelang took the part of "Mrs. Mitchell," director of the home, Mrs. Clara Powell took the part of "Mr?. Fullerton." Miss
