Kalamazoo Will Not Join In Fight on Accounting KALAMAZOO. Mich., Oct. 11. Thf Kalamazoo Fupervisors Monday afternoon refused to take any action in condemnation of the uniform accounting eysteri installed by legislative enactment. At the Initial session of the board, a communication va.s received from the supervisors of IJerrien county asking the Kalamazoo board to unite with them in .'if king the legislature- to repeal the tompulory feature of the law. The Berrien board declares the compulsory adoption of the system entailed an unwarranted expense and would cost about $-'50.000 to install in all the counties of Michigan.

BODY OF SLAIN BABY IS FOUND
Mystery Shrouds Shooting Of Duck Hunter in Marsh MT. CLEMEN'S. Mich.. Oct. 11 Juliu3 Jock. 25 years old. Is In a serious condition from a shotgun wound Inflicted by an unknown hunter. Jock, accompanied by Julius Malfalt, went to Lake St. Clair' early yesterday to hoot ducks. The story as told by Malfait is that Jock brought down a duck and when he started to retrieve It an unknown hunter Jumped out of the marsh and ordered them both to leave the marfh. They did not argrue the roint and aa they started to leave th3 unknown hunter leveled his shotgun at Jock at distane of about 60 feet und fired. As Jock dropped, Malfalt rushed to his assistance but was ordered to leave under penalty of receiving "the fame dose." He had to walk two miles to a telephone to notify the sheriff and two hours elapsed before the wounded man was brought to the hospital here, to receive medical assistance.

Slaycd Barber Then CalmlyWashed Up and Escaped HOUGHTON. Mich.. Oct. 11. William Johnson, .aged 38. a barber of South Range, near here, was hacked to death by an unidentified assailant. His body was found Mond ly in the rear of his ho.p. horribly mutilated. Robbery was the aprarent motive for the crime. The murderer paused long enough before leaving the scene to stop in the barber shop and c'mh up. A basin full of water showed where he had washed the blood off Iii.5 hands. A bloodsoaked towel was nearby.

Authorities Say Evidence Will Be Used Against Mrs. Matic Kirhy. ADRIAN, Mich., Oct. 11. When Mm. Matie Kirhy, Hudson W. C. T. L worker and club woman, was arraigned before Judge Rurlon Hart, charged with, the murder of a grandchild born July 4 out of wedlock. It became known that the Lenawee county authorities have found what they believe U the child's body, heretofore a missing link In tho chain of evidence aga.in.Tt Mrs. Kirhy. Prosecutor Leland F. Bean refused to disclose where the body had been found, but did divulge that a bill presented to tho c-ounty clerk by Dr. Charles S. Lane, of Hudsun, for two days' services examining the corpse of an Infant, taking measure mentn of bones, and other expert services on order of Iceland F. Roan and O. L. Smith concerned the Kirhy rase. On request of Prosecutor Bean, the c-a5e of Mrs. KIrby was put at the foot of the calendar for the October term. With the entering of a plea of not guilty for his client, former Judgrs B. D. Chandler, announced that the defence was ready for trial and ho declared ho would oppose any move of the prosecution to delay tri.al until the January term.
Warsaw Council to Decide Ornamental Lighting System WARSAW, Cct. 11. A special meeting of the city council has been called for Wednesday eveninvg to take some definite action on the proposed Installation of 103 ornamental light posts In tho business district of the city. Tho members of tho council have been given a shock as a result of an estimate on the cost of current for tho proposed system and submitted by the Ilaks Electric Co., of Goshen, According to this estimate the annual lighting bill of the city would be Increased 54,4 20. The members of the council, however, have made It quite plain that before submitting to a cost of approximately $13,000 a year for street lighting, with the new system inatalled, that they will appeal to the public service commission at Indianapolis for a reduction in the rate.
