Always investigate before you part with your money. f hat's good sense. When you do investigate, go to someone who knows WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT. SOMEONE WHO WILL TAKE THE TIME TO FIND OUT THE FACTS FOR YOU. Insist upon getting the truth based upon definite facts and definite information not an opinion based upon one man's idea. Usually you will be advised upon general principles alone. With no thought of the actual merits of your particular problem. We earnestly court the most rigid and thorough investigation both as to our plan of business, the discount banking business, and the character and ability of the men who are handling the affairs of this corporation. But let that investigation be a real investigation let them go clear to the bottom of this business. Then use your own judgment based on the real merits of the proposition-. If you will seek advice and counsel of one competent to analyze and weigh definite facts there will be no question as to your decision. Sporadic evid'T.rs of progress are many, yet a large number of business men candidly admit that Lupines. o far a- it touches them directly has not altered appreciably in character and that dulim-.os still prevails all recent expressions of optimism and sweeping generaliations to the contray notwithstanding. The pood news undoubtedly nutwojgh the bad. but the important thins? is to determine whether or not the improvement is permanent and the beginning of a new period of prosperity, comments one brokerage house. Market Review Stock. The ftock market took a downward turn as the week began under liquidating. Tradln? was less than in the week previous. Factors causing the change in sentiment were chiefly of minor or transient nature. The pradual decline continued next day. although call money renewed at i 1-2 per cent, traders anticipated favorabje legislative action in congress, and fome encouraging reports came from industry. Bear forces were again operative Wednesday, when rail money tightened. The New York Federal Reserve bank reduced its rediscount rate one-half por cent. There market rallied Thursday under the encouraging Influence of this reduction. GRAIN. (Chicago Market). Grains averaged higher on Monday, due to figures snowing August exports of wheat and flour above expectations and reducing the Argentine exportable surplus. A marked increase in the visible supply was a bearish factor. Reports of excessive moisture In the Northwest strengthened the market Tuesday, although t lie close wan not materially higher than close of the day before. New export business was lacking. , All grains declined at the midweek; and December and May corn touched new low points for the season. Traders began to wonder whether recent exports may not have oversupplied Europe's needs. Rallies followed on initial decline on Thursday, due to revival of export demand, damage from rain in the Northwest, and a rise in Sterling. Ontori. The cotton market began to recover its previous losses in Monday's trading and confidence revived. Trade demand was good. The rise continued early Tuesday, but later prices broke, due to realizing.
