THE ACORN XJIDDEN away in a sacred corner stands die Acorn of Notre Dame. It was in this little log caA in, lost in the wilderness, that the seed of this great University was planted. The struggle of the Founders of Notre Dame is unsung in the Halls of Fame; but the glorious achievement that have marked the progress of our great institution of learning find a concrete expression in the magnificent group of buildings that house two thousand students from every corner in the world.

ODAY Notre Dame represents a plant worth $7,000,000 without one single "cent of indeHted-

ness. Five colleges, Arts and Letters, Engineering, Science, Commerce and Law, under

the instruction of one hundred and fifteen professors offer more than four hundred courses. Notre Dame from the acorn of Indian days has flourished into a strong mighty OAK TREE of Knowledge. The strength of the oak tree manifests itself in her record of Civil War service and in our recent war. It shows its invincible courage in its present drive for funds. The success of Notre Dame is the success of South Bend. This school with an endowment of $2,000,000 will become one of the greatest universities in the world. Your contribution will make this possible.
