Admiral J. Cordeiro Da Graca who is to givft a Iecture"on "BraTir to the students of Xotre Dame and frienda from South Bend at Xotre Dame Friday night acted aj? an Instructor in the Brazilian navy for 20 years. He spent 40 yearn tn'the Brazilian navy, :o of which were spent in active service. Recently he has been honorably retired from active service. The admiral came to th United States in January 1919 to install Lloyd-BraHileiro Steamship service which has been successfully operated since for 20 months. He has visited all countries and speaka French, Portugese, Fnglis-h Italian, German and Spanish. He has made 17 trips to the United States and will sail from New York to Brazil at tho end of May. Admiral J. Cordeiro Da Graca was appointed by Pres't Ptssoa, of Brazil, to study all questions economic, political, etc.. involving Brazil and the United States. He comes to this country often on diplomatic mii-Mon. Admiral Da Graca is accompanied on his trip to South Bend and Notre Dame by Jules M. Wogan the American general agent of the Lloyd Brasl'.eiro steamship line. Wogan has been in tho exporting and importing business for the last 25 years. He is a resident of New Orleans and said to be one of the most influential business men there. The lecture will be given in Wash

Chicago Doctor Arrested On Charge of Bond Theft r.y Inf r rnatinal Newa Service: CHICAGO, May 19. Dr. Maurice A. Sraulding U under arret today at the instance of his wife who alleges he t-tole J1S.OU0 in Liberty bonds from her. The physician was taken Into custody at the home of his mother In Vincennes, Ind. Mrs. Spaulding declares that her husband took the bonds, which were given her by her father without her

permission. She likewise asserts that she had previously spent $10.000 on him besides paying the expenses of their wtilding journey. The Spaulding.s were married about a year ago, the husband graduating from medical college after their marriage.

Thero was recently produced in I'dinburg a play by Mr. J. W. McLaren, "Weir of Hermiston", adapted from Robert Louis Stevenson's novel. Mr. McLaren has received a letter from Sir Janus Larrie, congratulating him on the great success of the play. "I wonder," adds Sir James, "whether you know that JX- L- H. himself wrote a long play on the subject tailed The Harming Judge,' which was never published, though I read it in manuscript Ions 'SO" Christian Science Monitor.
