When I turn the motor over on compression and hold it there, a dhvlnrt hissini; can be heard which seems to come from the crank case because when I hold my hand o fr the l.nathrr pipe the lii.wn? cannot be heard. This is noticeable on three cylinders in different decrees, and is evidently due to the compression hakim; somewhere because the hissimr gradually dies away as the pressure decreases.
