Sports I RUEBER STAMP NO. 999 -Well. Ill probably flunk this time, but you watch me next semester." Old stuff! Probably translated from the Egyptian. Ever since the world began its inhabitants have been busy concocting excuses for their failures and making promises for the future. Promises, like New Year's resolutions, are fine things if they're kept. The good student is not so free with his fpoken promises. He doesn't need to be. He promises himself that he will do his brst, and he does it Senn News, Senn High School. Chicago, 111. OLD LADY RIDDLE "WTvat ! the dlffrenv between a cloud and a whipped child? (Answer to yesterday's: "When dv an 111-flttlnfr pAlr of trousers remind you of two French ports?" When they art too loo and too long. Toulou? and Toulon.) About this time last year I was getting ready for mv hot-bed. Dad had suggested that I make one, sell the produce to the neighbors, and put the proceeds in the bank. I made the hot-bed about the first of March. It wasn't a very difficult job, and yet it was hard enough to te called work. About the last of February I got some cigar boxes at a totacco store near by, and set some tmall tomato plants, etc., in them, packing in some good, rich dirt. Garden Stuff Sold Well These plants I nursed along in the house until the ground had thawed a bit and the weather was a little warmen Then I set them out in the iot-bed garden. By watching the plants carefully I was able to get some really good vegetables from my garden. I was in a position to sell them to neighbors cheaper than the grocer could, and besides I delivered the goods right to the housewife's dcor she didn't have to bother going to the grocery store every time she wanted a bunch of radishes. The stuff sold readily. John II. Lament, Woodstock. 111. men neAt Thursday evening here. The ladles of the Federated; chiirch will have a meeting Thürs- ' day afternoon at the home of Mrs. j Ci. W. MR. PURCHASING AGENT: We are preparing to move into new quarters and desire to reduce our present stock of Oak Transfer Cases, lettersize. We are offering you the same high grade cabinet at a reduction of over 1 5rc than the price asked by other dealers. At the front of each cabinet, under the drawer, are two fibre rollers; and on the top of each drawer, at the back, are two more rollers; no matter how heavily the drawer may be loaded, it will roll easily. Drawer-style transfer cases of this capacity are next to useless without rollers and are never recommended. They are of three-ply veneering construction, which insures them from splitting, warping or sticking. Drawer-pulls are bolted on, not merely screwed. They cannot be pulled off in ordinary use.
