The schools of this vicinity closed last Friday and will have a week's va.cation, opening1 again on Monday, January 3, 1921. Mrs. John Berkheiser, who is ill, is reported sliphtely improved. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Barnes entertained with a family dinner at which covers were placed for fifteen on Christmas day. In honor of their twentieth wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Anten and daughter were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Smith on Sunday. There will be the usual services at Auten chapel Sunday with Sunday school at 10 o'cleck, followed by regular preaching services by the p.-uMor, Kev. Nitsche. Christian Kndeavor at 7 p. m. Miss- Harrietta BaJ-nes will entertain with a New Year's eve party at her home on the Michigan road next Friday evening Miss Wreatha Whiteman attended a Christmas dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Irvln Poole of South Bend. Other guests included Mr. and Mrs. Corey Ullery of Auten chapel. Mr. and Mrs. Malichie Cilery end son of Granger and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bolln of South Bend.
