The meeting of the league lasted more than fuur hours. While it was stated that the session was harmonious, significance Is attached to the election of directors for the ensuinp year, from the fact that the three so-called lnsurpent club New York. Chlcapo and Boston again were denied representation on the board. Clioo-e Iirvoora. The directors cho.-en included th.presidents of the St. Jouis, Cloveland. Washington and Philadelphia clubs, the only change beinp the Fuhstitutlon of Cleveland for Detroit. Prta't Navln of th Detroit club was re-elected vice president of the league. Pres't Johnson presided at both sessions. Matters In which the American league concurred with the action taken by the National leapue, included the ratification of the new maj-r league preement, fixlnp April 1- as the opening date for the 1 i 2 1 season and permitting splthall pitchers now in the league to use that form of delivery durinp the remainder of their careers but to permit no new pitchers cominp into the league to use the sr.itball. It was said there are now six spitbail pitchers- in the AmTican league. Oppose Waiver Hule. The club owners went on record as opposing; the inter-league waiver rule except on drafted players.
