The Kindig homestead, instead of becoming a seminary as prescribed in the will, has been sold to the First Presbyterian church of Goshen for $11.000. It is located across tho alley from the church. John Granville Knox, a brother, who under the will was not to get anything, has been paid $S,C00 as u compromise arrangement under whii'h he withdrew suit to break tho will on the theory that his sister was not In her right mind when she made it. Yesterday, through Judge Drake of the circuit court granting a petition asking for such i-frmlssion. Aaron S. Zook of Goshen, executor of the will, purchased of Mrs. Frank G. Hubbell the residence property across the alley from Goshen hospital for $20,000. As part of this deal Mrs. Hubbell. In return for the 20,000 consideration, donates $1,000

collet endeavored to get control ot the Kindig fund when "It went bfgfring." For 2 0 years Mrs. Kindig lived in comparative discomfort, denying herself all luxuries and living in the most economical manner. Nearly all of the Kindig funds came from Joseph L Kindig. husband of Mrs. Laura Knox-Kindlg. was an early-day merchant here. Through his provisions $10. COO wa9 paid Franklin coHese, a Daptist institution at Franklin, Ind., at the death of his wife. Mrs. Kindle owned 10 Goshen business houses. The Kindig home stead occupied a Quarter of a block at the eastern edrce of the buFlnes" section. There Mrs Kindig spent many years in seclusion. What tho expenses in conducting the Kindig estate aro has not been made public.

All the personal bequests made in the will are to be paid In detail even the distribution of the underwear, which wero old-fa.hloned suits. For nearly three years what to do with the Kindig money has been a question that has caused much comment. Joseph Ia Kindig, who was responsible for the wealth, has many nieces and nephews, none of whom is wealthy. The net result of proceedings to date Is: Mrs. KJndIgs brother, John Granville Knox, completely ignored in the will and who, it Is declared, Mrs. Kindig had often said she did not want to get a cent of her money, has been paid $8,000. Mrs. Kindlg's homestead, which she wanted converted into a seminary, has been sold and is used ae a prayer meeting house. About $20.000 of Mrs. Kindlg's money has been used In buying one of the very old brick residences of Goshen with the intention of turning it Into a nurses home, regarding which not a word was said In Mrs. Kindlg's will.
