Monday night. After a session of yells for the team. Interspersed with high school songs. W. M. Danner. Jr., gave the invocation, and 130 of the team's mot loyal supporters sat cTown to a chicken dinner served by the high school girls. Musical numbers entertained during the meal. A. II. Thielen!, toastmaster. introduce,! Capt. -elect ""Ollie" IMwards. Fduards. in a short talk, promised to instill the traditional lighting spirit ot the school into next wars! team and cheers greeted Iiis announced determination to beat Mishawaka next year. "Pick" Hollowell referred to the ride to Warsaw and the resulting victor" for South Hend by a 70 to 0 score over that team, as a high spot of the season just closed. Predicts Winning Tram. Applause greeted Coach (Jransden when he rose to speak. He said that the success of the team had not been due to any one individual or group of players, but to cooperation of the entire squad. He praised Capt. Zuvcr for his leadership displayed throughout the season and commended highly both the line and baekfleld. COMPLAIHTS LEAD TO RAID BY POLIGE Eight Persons Arrested When Officers Visit Victoria Hotel. Presumably as a result of numerous reports made to the police department of vice conditions existing here, olllcers late Tuesday night raided tho Victoria hotel, 107 1-2 W. Colfax av. Fight persons were caught in the joint, which is within two blocks of the police station. Joile Smith will face trial in city court on a charge of being its keeper. Seven are charged with visiting a house of ill fame. They are Charles "Williams, Harry Davis, Helen Bokard, Hue Dickerson, Boso Beck, Helen Swartz and Hose Brown. The Smith woman was released under ?50 bond, while others gave $25 bond each for their appearance In court. Officers advised of a row at the place last Saturday night by a prominent citizen refused to enter the plac without a warrant.
