TICKCT STRAIGHT SOCIALIST TICKET STRAIGHT PRCKIBITIOH TICKET a r r-. STRAIGHT FARMER-LABOR TICKET Kill

FIRST Upon entering booth, move curtain lever to the right as far as it will go and leave it there. SECOND If you mean to vote a straight ticket pull down the lever in the column at the extreme left, headed "Parties," and directly ABOVE the name of your party. Having pulled that lever down, leave it there. Do not push it back up. This applies to all parties. And do not mistake the lever for the first of the presidential electors a for the party lever. Voters have sometimes done that in which case they voted for one elector and no more. The party lever is the one where the hand pulls it down ABOVE "Straight Democratic Ticket." You can readily see how the same principle applies to the others. THIRD If you do not want to vote a straight ticket DO NOT TOUCH THAT PARTY LEVER AT ALL. Then you must pull down the lever over each name that you wish to vote for presidential electors, fifteen of them, and all the rest. You can vote up and down for anyone you wish. FOURTH Suppose, for instance, you want to vote for the League of Nations, and then the rest of the Republican ticket. Do not touch the party lever, but pull down the levers over the names of the fifteen presidential electors in the Democratic column and for United States senator to make it complete, and then go up to the Republican column and pull down the lever over each name on the remainder of the ticket. You do not vote for president and vice president direct. You vote for them by their party electors. A vote for the Democratic electors is a vote for Cox and Roosevelt and the League. A vote for the Harding-Coolidge electors is a vote against the League. REMEMBER When you have pulled a lever down, if you still want to vote that way, LEAVE IT DOWN If you change your mind, however, you can push it back up, and vote for somebody else, but leaving the booth, LEAVE ALL LEVERS DOWN, regardless of party, OVER THE NAMES THAT YOU WISH TO VOTE or if a straight ticket, then LEAVE THE PARTY LEVER DOWN IN THE PARTY COLUMN, and it counts for the whole ticket. YOU cannot mutilate your ballot so as to lose your vote on the voting machine. Follow these instructions and you can vote exactly as you like, straight or split ticket, and your vote will tally when you throw back the large handle at the top of the machine upon leaving the booth. Voting Australian Ballot on Same Principle FIRST You take your ticket into the booth, and if you wish to "vote a straight ticket, mark an "X" in the circle at the head of the ticket. SECOND If you wish to "split" your ticket, do not make any "X" in the ticket circle at the top, but put an "X" in the square preceding each name that you wish to vote for presidential electors and all, same as you must manipulate the levers on the voting machine. NOTHING so very complicated about it. Just figure it out on this page, bless yourself with self-confidence, don't get excited, know your mind and vote it. That is Good Americanism. YOU SEE THAT VlAND AT THE DEMOCRATIC LEVER? That is a pretty good performance to stick to but if you are an independent voter, and for the League of Nations, don't forget to pull down the first fifteen levers and for ratification purposes, the 1 6th, in the Democratic column. THAT too is exceptionally Good Americanism just at this time. Don't Forget to Vote and Vote Early
